Frequently asked questions
At Mannkind, I can see you the same day or next day for all your needs. For urgent matters over the weekend, call or text and I will manage what I can over the phone, or if in the area and needed, I can meet you in the office to prevent an urgent care visit. I have agreements with other DPC providers in the area, so urgent matters may be handled by them if I'm out of the area during the week.
If you need a medication refill, just let me know by sending a text message or a note through your patient portal. I typically handle these requests during normal business hours when I’m not seeing patients. If your request comes in after hours, I’ll be sure to address it the next business day (unless you flag it as an urgent need).
For urgent matters during normal business hours, such as if you need to be seen within the next 24 hours or have another acute concern, you’re welcome to call or text the direct patient line. If I’m unable to answer right away, please leave a message, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. For urgent needs outside of normal business hours, please call me directly.
You may cancel your membership at any time; there are no obligations. If canceling due to a change in finances, please talk to me directly to see if we can work something out. If you are dissatisfied with your care, please talk to me to see if your concerns can be remedied. If you choose to cancel your membership, please provide notice in writing and your monthly fee will be pro-rated and refunded.
Great work on being healthy, whether by intentional effort or genetics. I would be honored to help maintain your good health with a yearly physical to address screening labs, imaging, vitals, and healthy habits as indicated. Any injury, illness, sprain or random concern that comes up the rest of the year will also be addressed by YOUR doctor rather than a busy, crowded, rushed urgent care or telemedicine doctor who has no relationship with you or pride in keeping you healthy. 1 or 2 of these visits could cost the same as your yearly membership.
As an employer, you know employees who are healthy are more productive, and those who feel valued tend to be more loyal. A membership to Mannkind Direct Family Medicine is a cost-effective alternative (or compliment) to insurance to provide your employees with the security of knowing they be seen the same or next day, by their doctor, with no out-of-pocket expense.
Medicare restrictions do not permit physicians to see Medicare patients without billing for their individual services. As a DPC provider, I will not be billing insurances. Until I have the patient base to support an income, I will need to have a side-job that restricts me from accepting Medicare at Mannkind Direct Family Medicine. As soon as I am able, I will transition to my DPC practice alone, and will be able to see Medicare patients.
