At Mannkind Direct Family Medicine, my mission is to redefine your healthcare experience. I want every interaction to feel valuable and productive. I want to eliminate the anger over surprise bills, anxiety of being rushed, frustration of not being listened to and abandonment of scheduling difficulty. This is accessible, affordable, and approachable family medicine.
Dr. Nathan Mann, DO
I grew up in northern Michigan falling in love with the surrounding nature. This, and the desire to make the world a better place led me to pursue a human biology degree through the Lyman Briggs School at Michigan State University then medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Residency in Binghamton, NY offered great exposure to all medical specialties with added training in medical acupuncture (though I have unfortunately fallen out of practice with the constraints of corporate medicine) and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), which I continue to use for musculoskeletal ailments. With the freedom DPC provides, I plan to further pursue Lifestyle Medicine and complimentary treatments.
Since graduating in 2010, I’ve gained extensive experience both in and out of the hospital setting, including five years of obstetric care in Grand Rapids. As an HMO provider in Grand Rapids, and being an hour from many specialists during my eight years in Gaylord, I developed the skills and confidence to care for the whole patient, rather than feeling the need to refer out for every diagnosis.
I feel grateful every day for the opportunity to help people stay healthy, and share patient’s pride when they report their clinical, mental or physical improvements. I have dreamed of doing DPC for years as a solution to corporate medicine pitfalls that detract from patient care and personal fulfillment. At Mannkind Direct Family Medicine, I can provide patients with a more personalized experience and maintain my passion for the profession I’ve devoted the last 30 years of my life to.
Outside of medicine, I've shared 25 years of life's adventures with my fantastic wife and am the proud father of three charismatic kids. I love live music, gardening, biking and snow sports, and am passionate about the outdoors. Since moving back to the Lansing area, I’ve valued being close to siblings and watching my family flourish in their interests.
